On July 5, 2021 Janelle and Kurt Kornelsen, a couple from the Soul community, became new parents as they gave birth to their daughter Stevie Monroe. About a month later Stevie was diagnosed with an enlarged heart.

With the fall weather now upon us, we’re excited to move our Sunday gatherings inside! This Sunday, September 12 we will gather to worship together indoors at 10:01am.

We are excited to announce the beginning of Discipleship Groups at Soul Sanctuary. Discipleship groups are a type of Life Group that operates with an expressed desire to fulfill the biblical principles of Christian discipleship.

Transformation begins in community. As followers of Jesus, we are called to grow and continue being transformed by the Holy Spirit to become more and more like Jesus. The reality is transformation like this has always happened within community.

Camp is a life-changing experience for so many students! In the last few years we have seen students start a relationship with Jesus for the first time, take next steps in their faith, and realize the freedom and purpose that God has for them.

The Soul Sanctuary Steering Committee would like to invite you to join us in showing appreciation for the staff and pastors of Soul Sanctuary.

This summer we’re excited to host a new Life Group called Sexual Integrity 101, led by Nancy Gamey. This Life Group is for anyone who wants to find freedom from the effects of unwanted sexual behaviours and sexual betrayal.

Starting on June 13 we will be starting Drive-In Gatherings in our parking lot at 2050 Chevrier Blvd (our 10:00am livestream gathering will continue uninterrupted). Our plan is to host a simple gathering at 10:00am that includes worship and preaching, all while following public health guidelines.

Since the Spring of 2019 the Soul Sanctuary community has been working towards sponsoring a refugee family from Pakistan. We’ve received an update concerning their relocation plans.

As we are faced with a new set of restrictions we must remember our Christianly commission to share the light and love of Christ with our world. Here are three ways we can love others during the next month of restrictions.

This Easter the Soul Sanctuary community raised over $7,000 for Home of the Good Shepherd (HGS) in Brazil! These funds will go towards furnishing new accommodations for children at the home.

We’re calling on the Soul Sanctuary community to join together to help us honour all women in the Soul family as we near the celebration of Mother’s Day on May 9.

In light of the Government of Manitoba’s new guidelines for places of worship we will be changing our Sunday Gathering times and capacity.

We believe in taking the next step, but before we can take a next step deeper into community, or into our relationship with Jesus, we have to be able to identify what that step may be. Starting on Sunday, April 11 our online gathering start time will move to 9:09am. Our previous online gathering start time was 8:50am and included a morning show and pre-recorded gathering. Our new live stream gathering will be a live feed from the 9:09am in-person gathering.

Last year the Living Word team started a garden and wood ministry with the purpose of providing a safe, healthy and supportive environment for women and men from all cultures where purpose, hope and healing through Jesus is offered and encouraged.
