Our newcomer ministry team supports individuals and families new to Canada with getting connected to community, english language classes, and practical supports for your transition to life in Canada.

Translation

Ukrainian translation services are available during our Sunday worship gatherings.

*We’re working on adding translation services for additional languages.

Community

Settling in a new country can be exciting, but also very difficult. We believe that you can’t do life alone and want to help you get connected with others in the community. Building relationships and learning from others can help your transition to Canada.

English Language Support

Soul Sanctuary hosts English conversation club and ESL classes every week to provide access to language opportunities for newcomers.

English Club

Tuesdays at 6pm-8pm
Multipurpose Room A, 2nd Floor

What is English Club?

English Club is for adults wanting to improve their English speaking and listening skills in small conversation groups with other newcomers and native English speakers.

Conversation will include practical english language, Canadian culture, and life in Canada. All language levels and nationalities are welcome.

English Club is free to attend
Childcare is not provided

ESL Classes

Soul Sanctuary offers English language classes for adults whose first language is not English. Curriculum is used to teach vocabulary, grammer, pronunciation, spelling, and reading. Classes are offered at different language levels.

Advanced Level - Ministry Office B, 2nd Floor

Intermediate Level - Conference Room A, 2nd Floor

Sundays at 12:30pm
Elementary Level - Conference Room B, 2nd Floor

*Childcare is only available for the ESL classes held on Sundays at 12:30pm. Participants will need to find alternative care for their children when attending the other classes.
