Back in 2022 there was an influx of Ukrainians to Winnipeg and some came to Soul Sanctuary and made it their home church.
We saw the need to provide English translation in the gathering so that they could benefit from the entire experience on Sunday. We purchased a UHF transmitter and receivers in order to provide live translation.
We then noticed many newcomers to Canada looking for a church community to worship with, arriving at our doors.
In time, we were being asked if we could provide translation for them as well.
Our staff did some homework and we decided to purchase the Wordly App that enables translation for up to 50+ different languages.
Wordly App
Wordly is a leading provider of AI-powered live translation and captioning services, with both speech-to-speech and speech-to-text capabilities.
All a person needs to do is bring their phone and earbuds, scan the code we provide and they can then listen. The software is capable of translating speech into either an AI-generated natural-sounding voice or subtitles.
The tool can also be used to generate same-language captioning with virtually zero lag time. Wordly enables participants to take advantage of real-time translation and live captioning and it enables us to unlock the potential of our multilingual people by removing language barriers, increasing inclusivity, engagement, productivity, and even attendance.
On average we have 30-40 people using the App on Sunday in 7-8 different languages.
