Lenten Virtual Life Group

Don’t do life alone this Lenten season. Life Together: Lent is a church-wide 5 week Life Group that calls the Soul Sanctuary community to reflection, prayer, and repentance as we focus our hearts and minds during the forty days before Easter. We’ll do this through daily Lenten devotional readings and discussion through the Church Center App. Then, every Tuesday after Ash Wednesday, we will join together on a Zoom call for a reflection surrounding a spiritual discipline traditionally observed during the season of Lent, as well as small group discussion and prayer.

The Lenten season is meant to be a time in the “wilderness.” This is a season that helps us create time and space to strip ourselves of the things that keep us from wholeheartedly seeking God. Throughout church history, this has typically been fostered through spiritual practices like fasting, generosity, silence, solitude, and prayer. As we surrender time and space to reflect on our lives, on how we operate in the world, and as we intentionally take time to repent, the Holy Spirit helps prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of Easter and the joyful celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. Our desire is to orient our hearts toward Christ in the “wilderness,” all while connecting with one another and growing in relationship during a time of distance.

We’ll officially kick off the Lenten season with our Ash Wednesday, February 17, gathering at 7:07pm, streamed on Facebook and Church Online.
