Exciting Changes to Soul Kids this Fall!
Here at Soul one of our family values is that we believe that the message of Jesus is for everyone, this includes the youngest of children in our community. We’re so excited to implement a series of important changes to our Sunday ministry for those in Soul Kids and Soul Kids Jr.
Soul Kids Jr. Changes
We’re introducing new ministry spaces for 1-2 year olds and 4 year olds.
Starting this Sunday, October 1, we will be introducing a staffed space for 1-2 year old children, as well as a new classroom for 4 year olds. Read below to see how these changes impact our ministry spaces in Soul Kids Jr.
Check-in: Our check in process will remain the same for all children. Simply proceed to the big sign in the atrium that says “Soul Kids'' and one of our team members will check your child in. All Soul Kids ministry spaces will open up during the coffee break halfway through the Gathering.
0-1 years: For parents with infant children, a child/parent co-play space is available in the Soul Kids Jr. room on the main floor of the facility. This large unstaffed space has a monitor that broadcasts the sermon, toys, and space for parents and kids to play together. Check in is not required for this space.
1-2 years: We are introducing a new ministry space for children aged 1-2. This space will be in the middle partition of the Soul Kids Jr. room on the main floor. Check-in your child upon arrival at the Soul Kids banner in the atrium, and then during coffee break drop them off at the door to the middle partition of the Soul Kids Jr. room where our Servant Leader team will greet you. After the gathering, pickup your child (with your parent tag) at the same location as drop off.
2-3 years: We’ve narrowed the age bracket of our toddler room to children aged 2-3 in order to better provide age-appropriate activities and lessons. This space will be in the far partition of the Soul Kids Jr. room. Check-in your child upon arrival at the Soul Kids banner in the atrium, and then drop them off at the farthest door in the Soul Kids Jr. space during coffee break. After the gathering, pickup your child (with your parent tag) at the second door in Soul Kids Jr.
4 year olds (born in 2019): We’re introducing a new classroom space for 4 year olds in order to help them make the transition from Soul Kids Jr. to Soul Kids. Our 4 year old classroom will be located upstairs in Conference Room A. Check-in your child upon arrival at the Soul Kids banner in the atrium, and then drop them off upstairs in Conference Room A during the coffee break where our Servant Leader team will greet you. Parent drop off is required for this classroom. After the Gathering, pickup your child (with your parent tag) at the same location as drop off.
Soul Kids Dismissal
We are introducing a new dismissal process for Soul Kids on a Sunday morning.
2 Door Dismissal: Once on the second floor you’ll see two signs (labelled 1 and 2) this means 2 door dismissal is active and parents are able to pick up at either door. At door 1 or 2 you will meet a Servant Leader ready to receive your parent tag and call your children to the door.
Self-Dismissal: We now have the option for parents of children aged 6 and over to consent to their child being released from the Soul Kids ministry after the conclusion of the gathering without their parent having to pick them up. Children under the age of 6 must be picked up by a parent and cannot be dismissed with an older sibling. Without written consent (below) the regular pick-up policy requiring a parent and a parent tag at pick-up will continue.
