Lent: Praying Together
This Wednesday, March 2 is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Lent is a season in the liturgical year where we remember the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert prior to the start of his earthly ministry. We observe the season of Lent as preparation for our hearts, minds, and bodies leading up to Bad Friday and Easter Sunday, the observance of Jesus’ death and resurrection. During this season we too are invited to journey in the wilderness together following the leading of the Holy Spirit as he seeks to draw us into greater intimacy with the Father and greater likeness in the Son.
To this end, we will create and facilitate a space where we can intentionally begin our day and focus our minds on Christ. Join us on Wednesday mornings for 6 weeks, starting March 2, from 7am – 7:45am to spend time in contemplative reading and prayer as we journey through the season of Lent together.
Our corporate gathering as Christians is all the more important in light of the events transpiring in Ukraine. United we come together to petition the Lord to have mercy on us and through intercession we enter into the suffering of our brothers and sisters as they enter into the suffering of Christ.
