3 Next Steps You Could Take This October
We believe in taking the next step.
“We believe in taking the next step” is one of our family values at Soul. Central to this belief is the idea that we’re all on a journey of Christian maturity that includes responding to the grace of God in our lives. As a church we desire to provide opportunities for you to respond to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life and to walk with you on your journey of discipleship. Here are three next steps that you could take this October to deepen your relationship with God or your connection with the Soul community.
1. Water Baptism (Oct. 16)
Once you have accepted God’s gift of salvation, we encourage you to take the next step and publicly declare your decision to follow Christ through water baptism. In Christian baptism, the believer is immersed and raised back up out of water. Water baptism is a picture of what Jesus did for us through His death, burial, and resurrection. It symbolizes the death or laying aside of our old way of living and the entering into our new life in Christ as His fully devoted follower.
Water baptism does not offer salvation, but is an outward representation of the inner transformation that already took place when you made Jesus Lord of your life. It is also a powerful testimony to others in your community that you are a follower of Jesus. Whether you are a new believer, or have been a follower of Christ for some time and have not yet taken this step in your faith journey, water baptism may be your next step.
2. Attend Growth Track (Oct. 16, 23, 30)
As you consider taking a next step deeper into community at Soul Sanctuary we challenge you to enrol in Growth Track.
Growth Track is a three week interactive seminar that serves as a guide for you to explore Soul Sanctuary church and to help you take a next step in your relationship with Jesus. It runs for three consecutive weeks and is open to everyone. It takes place in the Conference Room on the 2nd floor from 8:45am-9:45am on Sundays before the gathering.
3. Start Serving
We believe that the ministry of our church is shared by those who belong to it. That means that we all choose to serve God by pursuing the vision of our church in one way or another. If Soul Sanctuary is your home church community then we challenge you to find a place to serve.
Below are a number of opportunities where you can serve, note that this is not an exhaustive list.
