SOUL YOUTH:
YEAR OF SPIRITUAL FORMATION

An opportunity for grade 9-12 students to spend 10 months intentionally
growing in their faith! Applications accepted until October 6th.

What is this all about?

The Year of Spiritual Formation is a small group of grade 9-12 students who want to intentionally grow in their faith this year. Over a 10 month period, students will spend time learning about spiritual formation and exploring different spiritual disciplines together!

Students who want to be a part of this must apply and be accepted. Applications will be accepted up until October 6th or when all spots (10-12 available) are filled. See below for more details.

What will the commitment
look like?

All students must commit to the following…

  1. Monthly Meet-Ups — These times together will be filled with teaching, discussion, and checking in on how last month’s spiritual disciplines and readings went. We will meet the third Friday of each month at 5:15pm (until youth starts). Supper provided.*

  2. Spiritual Practices + Readings — Each month will have a spiritual practice and readings attached to it. Students can expect to spend 10-15 minutes a day on this.

  3. Check-Ins, Sharing, + Encouragement — Students will be expected to share in a group chat how things have been going with that month’s practices and readings and encourage and pray for others as they do the same.

*Yearly Cost = $50 (covers meals and material costs)

Optional Additions…

In addition to the mandatory commitments, students have the option to be a part of the following…

  1. Monthly Leader Prayer Meetings — Students will be invited to join our leader prayer meetings before youth once a month.

  2. Increased Leadership Opportunities — Students have the option to intentionally grow in leadership in the Soul Sanctuary community throughout the year. Ministry opportunities will be determined based on need and discussion with individual students.

  3. Sunday School Classes — Soul periodically runs Sunday School classes before church on Sundays. Students will be encouraged to take part in as many of these as they can!
