“A vast army of locusts has invaded my land, a terrible army too numerous to count. Its teeth are like lions' teeth, its fangs like those of a lioness. It has destroyed my grapevines and ruined my fig trees, stripping their bark and destroying it, leaving the branches white and bare”. Joel 1:6-7 NLT
The faithfulness of God is truly remarkable. In the book of Joel we read about the distractive locusts that come to take from the lives of the Israelites the things that are important. Sometimes it is simply the circumstances of our lives that are like locusts, and other times it's the very things that we do that bring that same distraction. But in chapter two of Joel (Joel 2:25-26 The LORD says, "I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you. Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the LORD your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced.) we see the faithfulness of God as we turn our eyes and ways back to Him. We must look to God for all that we need. He promised the restoration of those things that we have lost. How faithful is our God!
Today, look to him for all that you require. Restored relationships, restored vision, and restored hope can all be ours if we just look to Jesus.
