Worship Director

Position Summary

The Worship Director, working with the Lead Pastor, oversees the creative and administrative tasks  associated with the worship ministry at Soul Sanctuary (“Soul”). The Worship Director takes on the  responsibility of guarding the spiritual culture and character of the worship ministry and those involved in the ministry. The Worship Director position is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage those involved in the worship and tech ministry at Soul. This includes audio, video, vocal, instrumental and stage design teams

  • Execute worship ministry programming that reflects Soul’s vision, mission and culture ∙ 

  • Plan and administer Soul worship gatherings in collaboration with the Lead Pastor

  • Administrative tasks corresponding to the worship ministry, including scheduling 

  • Oversee and execute the production of each gathering; which can include multiple forms of  media and creative arts 

  • Oversee the structure and systems of Soul’s Worship 

  • Have consistent communication with worship and ministry team leaders prior to each Sunday gathering. 

  • Plan and implement Soul worship projects and department goals including facilitating the training of Servant Leaders in their ministry areas.

  • Resource for Soul Youth worship ministry

  • Pastoral care for the Soul Community 

  • Spiritual care for the worship ministry teams 

  • Participate in weekly Soul Sanctuary staff team meetings

  • Understand and uphold Soul Sanctuary’s Protection Policies.

  • Be an integral member of the Soul Staff team and the life of the community.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior Worship Director/Pastor experience is an asset 

  • Ability to create, coordinate and lead a worship experience with a team 

  • Has a desire for excellence for the glory of God in the work that they produce 

  • Passion to dream and re-imagine what worship can look like 

  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively 

  • Ability to learn and use Planning Centre Online, Propresenter, VMix software 

  • Proficiency in voice and at least one instrument 

  • A team player who works effectively with the staff and ministry team 

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment ∙ 

  • High capacity multi-task individual comfortable working independently without constant  supervision

  • A team player who works effectively with the staff and ministry team

  • Doctrinal alignment with Soul Sanctuary and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada

  • A growing, vibrant faith in Jesus, that is evident through the pursuit of personal spiritual formation
