Sometimes enough is enough. I am getting a little tired of the articles that are being posted by people of faith regarding a certain “day” set aside for “pagan” activities.
There are articles like bit.ly/1NCXRSZ and this one http://bit.ly/1Rg1yyP and I am sure there are many others as well. The issue resides in the fact that posting articles such as these are simply one sided and condemning. I could easily make a convincing presentation with scripture with the opposite viewpoint of the articles that is life giving and full of redemption but why bother when you could read this one http://bit.ly/1O9QkhE or this onehttp://bit.ly/1NCYxrw in order to get a balanced perspective. Goodness, if we are going to attack one “pagan” day let’s hold the standard high against them all…that includes Christmas and Easter.
I grew up in what I would have called strong Christian fundamental leanings, yet oddly enough my parents had no problems with us getting dressed up and going door to door, putting up a Christmas tree and handing out chocolate Easter bunnies.
1 Corinthians 9:19-23 is clear. It becomes a matter of conscience as to how believers are interact with their cultural surroundings. But let's agree to disagree without condemning those who do or don't!
